黄河交通学院是教育部批准的河南省唯一一所以培养交通运输人才为特色的应用型本科高校，现有在校生 2 万余人。建校以来，学校秉承 “修德、启智、博学、笃行” 的校训，面向现代综合交通运输行业办学，先后为社会培养了 8 万余名专业人才，为地方经济社会发展提供了有力的智力支持和人才支撑。（Huanghe Jiaotong University is the only application-oriented undergraduate university in Henan Province approved by the Ministry of Education that features in cultivating transportation talents. 黄河交通学院地处郑州 “一刻钟经济圈” 内，与 “郑州黄河风景名胜区” 隔河相望，乘坐城际列车从郑州火车站至学校仅需十余分钟，交通便利，环境宜人。学校现有三个校区，总占地面积 2200 余亩，建筑面积 77 万余平方米，教科研仪器设备总值 1.76 亿元。学校现有教职工 1094 人。专任教师（折合）中具有高级职称的教师占比 45.93%，自有专任教师具有硕士、博士学位的教师占比 88.24%，自有专任教师中 “双师双能型” 教师占比 30.88%。有河南省教学名师 2 人，河南省教育厅学术技术带头人 6 人，河南省文明教师 8 人。学校图书馆馆藏纸质图书 183 万余册，校园网万兆互联、千兆到桌面，学生公寓空调、洗浴设施齐全，教学楼、实验实训楼、体育馆、餐厅等设施功能完备，为莘莘学子提供了良好学习生活环境。（Huanghe Jiaotong University is located within the "quarter-hour economic circle" of Zhengzhou, facing the "Zhengzhou Yellow River Scenic Area" across the river.
